Tattoo Aftercare Instructions
IMPORTANT: Always wash your hands before touching your healing tattoo!
Use these instructions as guidelines and any specific questions should be directed to your artist. Please refer to
packaging for complete product description.
Step 1: CLEAN
Your artist will indicate how long they want you to wear any wrap that has been applied. Generally, it is anywhere from 3 hours to 3 days. After remvoing the wrap use Tattoo Goo Antimicrobial Soap to clean the tattoo using a gentle, circular motion and do not use a washcloth or anything that will exfoliate your tattoo. Make sure to clean your tattoo 3-4 times a day. DO NOT soak in water for a minimum of two weeks. This includes baths, pools, hot tubs, & open bodies of water.
Step 2: HEAL
Apply a thin layer of Tattoo Goo Balm to a clean tattoo. Gently massage it in and you can add more if needed but, make sure not over apply. Remember a little goes a long way. Re-apply the balm 3-4 times a day after cleansing. Keep the tattoo moisturized will aid in healing. Make sure you are wearing loose clothing made of breathable fabric to prevent friction and irritation of your tattoo.
Using the Tattoo Goo Care Lotion will help alleviate any itching and irritation that occurs during the healing. Re-apply as needed throughout the day in addition to balm. DO NOT pick or scratch at your tattoo. It is normal for some scabbing, especially for larger tattoos or those with solid patches of ink. It is important to let the scab slough off naturally to avoid scarring or damage to the tattoo in any way. Protect your tattoo from direct sunlight and tanning beds as UV rays can fade your tattoo and slow down the healing process.
Step 3: PROTECT
You can continue to use both the Tattoo Goo Balm and Tattoo Goo Care Lotion daily for the life of your tattoo to maintain the color and vibrancy of your ink.
THINGS TO REMEMBER:
- It can take several weeks to several months for your tattoo to completely heal. Be patient and resist the urge to rush the process.
- Drink plenty of water to keep your skin hydrated.
- If you experience any signs of infection (increased redness, swelling, pus or a fever) contact a healthcareprofessional immediately.
- Tattoo Goo products are specifically designed for tattoo aftercare and are safe to use. Avoid using anything that
- contains petroleum or lanoline as products with these ingredients may inhibit proper healing of your tattoo.
